Farewell from Steve Robinson
Carta de Despedida de Steve Robinson
As many of you know, I will be leaving SAIS on July 1 to become the Canon of Education for the Episcopal Diocese of Honduras. As I reflect on the past eight years spent serving independent schools as the SAIS President, I am humbled. This reflection has brought to mind the amazing personal and professional growth I have experienced during this time. I have grown because I have known you. I am a better person because our paths crossed, and for the rest of my life I will carry memories of our time together. Any good that comes from my efforts in the future will be a credit to the way you have touched my life and helped me become better. The fact that this email is directed to you as an individual is not a mistake, for as I write it, hundreds of your faces flash through my memory. It is each of you as individuals that have contributed to making these the best eight years of my life.
As Rhonda and I move on to fulfill the call of our next iteration in Honduras, our thoughts and prayers will be with you. Your calling of service to schools is world changing for the lives you touch. Keep up the great work that you accomplish daily.
We will be back in the states somewhat regularly as I engage in development work for the schools in Honduras as well as maintain a limited speaking schedule at conferences, workshops, and parishes. I hope our paths will cross often, and when your schedule allows, please come to Honduras to witness firsthand the work of the Episcopal Schools of Honduras.
I would like to keep you informed of this work as it moves forward, however, I also want to respect your time and privacy. Therefore, if you would like for me to keep you informed of our efforts in Honduras, I invite you to opt in and become a friend of the Episcopal Schools of Honduras by submitting basic contact information via the link at the bottom of this message. I promise not fill your inbox with weekly messages, however, I will send you quarterly e-newsletters and occasional special messages regarding the schools.
May God bless all of your efforts as you serve the children of your schools. Know that I am blessed by the memory of our work at SAIS. Follow your passions, but remain attentive to that still small voice that may invite you to pursue a new dream. For as Frederick Buechner wrote, "The place God calls you to is the place where your deep gladness and the world's deep need meet."
